Detailed hands-on workshop at Oracle covering full details of Hyperion Essbase tuning and full Hyperion Planning development lifecycle. Planning 11.1 applications were developed with Classic Planning, EPMA and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). Load Rules, Forms, Web Analysis, workflow and Smart View were major parts of the course.

Delivered a payroll budget modelling system in OFA to replace a network of Excel spreadsheets with a robust, standardised system to support all departmental calculations, speed up the yearend budget process and provide detailed GL analysis.

Oracle eBusiness Suite R12 CRM
Provided Oracle eBusiness Suite expertise to Motability Operations as part of their migration from legacy applications including SAP onto an Oracle eBusiness Suite R12 platform. Included assistance with the analysis and testing of the migration process. Oracle Warehouse Builder was used to extract data from 3 separate SQL Server databases plus a number of Excel sheets and map the data onto Oracle data structures.

Data Modelling and Reporting Feasibility Study
Requirements definition for a replacement and re-engineering of Oracle Financial Analyzer (OFA) with Hyperion Essbase or Hyperion Planning and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition at the Financial Services Authority. The project was part of a program to upgrade Oracle eBusiness Suite to R12.

Oracle eBusiness Suite R12 and Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Prototype
As part of a joint capability demonstration with a partner consultancy eBusiness Suite R12 and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition were installed. OBI EE was used to build interactive dashboards from both Excel and Oracle DBMS data.

Business Modelling System Enhancements
Enhancements to fee modelling system at the Financial Services Authority. Business analysis and design of modification to complex models to accommodate legislative changes to billing systems. Led small team of Xansa developers and in house staff including knowledge transfer and training. Performed architecture review of current infrastructure and advice on migration from OFA.

Oracle E-Business Suite Architecture Review
Improvements to existing eBusiness Suite architecture at local authority to help them maximise their return on their existing Oracle investment. Defined new maximum availability architecture to improve resilience and performance of application using Real Application Clusters. Use of Dataguard for hot standby database. Improved backup strategy using Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM). Improvements to Oracle Discoverer business intelligence architecture.

ERP and Business Intelligence Systems Upgrade
Oracle 11i re-implementation of Tesco Stores Ltd applications and business intelligence systems. Responsible for re-design and rebuild of Oracle Financial Analyzer for the new GL 11i implementation incorporating numerous simplifications to the design. Project managed a team of consultants and was responsible for significant parts of the development. Designed architecture for Oracle Discoverer BI solution. Evaluation of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition. Participated in design of GL Chart of Accounts and hierarchies.

Oracle Financial Analyzer Reporting Enhancements
Business analyst on enhancement to OFA to support a major change to the detail level of data fed into the GL requiring new reporting structures and the creation of pseudo dimensions in OFA. Improvement in support processes surrounding to simplify support by automating, modularising code and implementing monitoring and alerting around the OFA system. Created generic interface module to allow creation of new interfaces via simple front end objects. Evaluation of Oracle Warehouse Builder for business intelligence.

Oracle Discoverer Data Mart Improvement
Provided consultancy to Tesco Samsung on their Oracle Discoverer implementation. Reviewed GL structures, improved and automated the ETL process, developed hierarchical reporting facilities based on GL hierarchies.
