Northgate Address Data Cleanup and Rationalisation

• Working in a team established to resolve issues identified in the Northgate Housing Application.
• Production of Work Packages (Product Specifications) based on Northgate’s ‘Health Checks’ with my focus on addressing issues.
• Detailed analysis of Lambeth’s addressing issues in the Northgate Housing system.
• Production of Software Specifications for SQL and PL/SQL to enable the resolution of issues.

• Main areas of work:

• The cleansing of spurious comments from address lines. Many different comments had been inserted by users to identify various address types and flag working problems.
• Allocation and correction of the Local London Property Gazette (LLPG) UPRN codes to address lines.
• De-duplication of address lines requiring the development of string matching algorithms and rules to identify and resolve duplicates.
• Development of an interface between the Gazetteer and the Northgate system to update and insert ‘in borough addresses’.
• Production of SQL and PL/SQL scripts to identify and resolve the above issues.
• Production of ad-hoc Business Objects reports and Excel Spreadsheets for presentation of data to users to enable verification of results.
• Extensive user contact in the agreement, specification, development and testing of solutions.

• Small team handling GAM’s Business Objects reporting.
• Re-write of Contract Notes reports from universe based reports to procedure based reports to improve performance and control for intra day production.
• Development and maintenance of a wide range of reports, universes and PL/SQL packages used in the production of reports.
• Support of live Business Objects systems across all environments. Liaison with user community to approve all changes.
Siebel Development
• Design and build of new universe against the Siebel system to produce a suite of reports supporting the Private Client Department’s servicing initiative.
• Developed complex logic to control a user’s visibility of data in the reports. This functionality was seen as too difficult to build in the Siebel reporting tool.
• Worked closely with lead user on specification, development and testing of the developed products.
