Sole developer on company wide Duty of Care project – automated system to monitor field engineer safety. VB6 system service application to handle processing, ASP based Intranet site for reporting. This project resulted in a personal recognition award.
Support of enterprise system interfaces used by the field workforce. Rewriting of what were originally desktop applications for these interfaces to Windows services.
Development, as part of a team, on an ASP/SQL Server application to track Broadband projects and deliveries.
Development, as part of a team, of an Intranet application for a call centre. This project also won a BT quality award.
Sole developer on emergency planning reporting system in VB6 and Oracle, to support staff within BT who ensure emergency services are aware of telephone line problems.
On own initiative, developed a configurable, scheduled data file loader for Oracle in VB and C++, which was then used in multiple projects, including broadband billing.

Development, as part of a team, of NT workstation based user interface for Vehicle Build Management System, displaying data using Visual Basic from an Access database.
Development of ActiveX controls for displaying VB designed screens on VT520 terminals on the shop floor. These controls used in several projects by myself and other developers.
Lot Control recording system, developed in Visual Basic 5 with data stored on Oracle. Other development for this project in VMS-DCL and Dec-C. Oracle Database administration for this and other projects, for which a training course was undertaken.

Development of C++ Builder VCL controls for data acquisition project.
Development of project to show Power Station data on plant display signs in C++ Builder.
Design and development of an information system to present process data to operators and management personnel. Mixture of C++ and Delphi code, running under Windows NT and designed using the Yourdon methodology. This system brings data from control systems to a central server so that client workstations can display live data.
Development of prototypes for new control system. First under DOS in C, using an industrial PC, and secondly under QNX, again in C using an industrial PC.
Installation, administration and support of a site-wide Windows NT network, including support of Microsoft Office and Lotus SmartSuite.
Production control system maintenance on PDP11-84 running RSX11M-Plus, including 24-hour call-out standby.
SCADA system specification, development and support. Project planning, for SCADA system development and installation, and for control system upgrades. Project planning training course undertaken.

Data acquisition project for the Ministry of Defence. Developed in ‘C’ under Digital’s VMS. Working to rigorous quality standards, involvement in high-level design work and an understanding of software audit procedures. User support during visits to site.
Traffic Management Product. Several Windows applications designed using the Yourdon design methodology. Written in C++, with DDE inter-process communications. Yourdon training course undertaken.
Data acquisition for the nuclear power industry. Developed in ‘C’ under Open VMS, using X/Motif and SQL. User interface design.
Involved in many projects, in all parts of the life-cycle, supplying estimates of time required for design and development for the tendering process, writing functional and design specifications, coding software, specifying acceptance tests and supporting products on site. Involvement in coding standards, particularly C++, and responsibility for configuration management of a large project.
