Main Projects:
Business Movers SME project
• Enhance Siebel 7.8 application to automate the creation of auto-correspondence to improve customer communication, to be picked up by a daily batch process & interfaced to fulfillment house.
• Responsible for the Siebel development required to deliver functionality. Including technical design documentation.
• Configuration included object definition changes, eScripting, & Workflow changes.

Customer Credit Risk Management project
• Project initiated to enhance Siebel 7.8 application to enable npower to better manage customer risk, to avoid market exposure.
• Responsible for managing the Siebel credit risk solution feasibility & design, working from BRS documentation & stakeholders.
• Conducting several design walkthroughs with key business stakeholders, to fine tune solution.

Siebel 7.8 Refinements Phase 1

Siebel Upgrade 6.3 to 7.8 Project: (Aug 07 – June 08)
Development team lead on RWE’s successful Siebel eEnergy upgrade project, migrating from version 6.3 to 7.8.2. Technically hands on, with my primary focus to help lead the development team & deliver technical enhancements to ensure the upgrade was delivered on time & to budget. My role also involved coordinating with the offshore development team (Accenture India) to deliver full functionality.

• Converting complex Siebel 6.3 functionality & Scripting to comply with Siebel 7.8 architecture, both Browser & Server side code.
• Tools configuration (UI, Bus Comp, Tables), Business Services, Workflows development.
• Experience in understanding & resolving configuration issues such as Siebel crashes using FDR’s & crash files.
• Siebel auto correspondence – Generate & mail merge functionality using Doc Server.
• Advising & working with a team of 5 developers on site & working directly with offshore development team, this included mentoring & supporting them resolve development issues.
• Support & maintenance of numerous interfaces to external systems – Beryl (Billing system) & Formfill (Registration and Flow Management system), using EAI.

Part of the development team responsible for implementing new functional enhancements to their current Siebel 7.5.3 Consumer Goods Application. Our main aim was to improve functionality around the Product Promotions & Campaign Management area’s, working with their in-house development and business analyst’s teams. My main responsibilities included:

• Advising on Siebel technical design/solution to deliver product searching functionality
• Siebel Tools Development, including Applets, Views, Business Component & table level changes.
• Siebel eScripting changes across all object levels & Business Services.
• Coordinating with business analysts & testers throughout the project development cycle to deliver release on time & to budget.
• Drastically improving performance of Baseline Data functionality, by reducing process time from 50 minutes+ to 2-3 minutes.

ROTHERHAM COUNCIL Siebel Configurator Feb 07 – April 07

Siebel Configurator (via Mphasis Consulting) to implement phase 1 of Siebel solution to replace a current ‘stand-alone’ access database which is used by the Council’s Forward Planning department to measure/monitor the use of industrial (& retail) land within the borough. My main responsibilities include:

• Requirements gathering - as no requirements or functional documentation had been drafted.
• Scoping & Designing the Solution - working directly with forward planning team to understand their business needs
• Organizing & conducting the design walkthroughs with forward planning team & training users on potential solution.
• Full Siebel tools Configuration - included creating new Screens, Views, Applets, Business Objects & Components, & Data layer changes. Also Workflow Configuration & Business Service scripting changes.
• Technical & ERD documentation to support Siebel configuration work undertaken.

NPOWER, Solihull Siebel Configurator/Team Lead Jul 04 – Jan 07

Senior Siebel developer with team lead responsibilities, using Siebel Energy vertical. Main responsibilities comprised of managing a team of 5 Siebel developers; undertaking solution design to final deliverable; Working directly with the business to determine requirements via workshops & design walkthroughs. My main responsibilities & projects are summarised below:

• Full Siebel development including tools configuration (UI, Bus Comp, Tables), eScript, Business Services & Workflow design.
• Managing a team of 5 developers, this included team mentoring by supporting development issues, and planning and estimating development workloads for projects across the development team.
• Support & maintenance of numerous interfaces to external systems – Beryl (Billing) & Formfill (Registration & Flow Management system), using EAI – Integration Objects/XML/MQ.
• Siebel server task administration, including creating custom server components & RCR’s, and monitoring components & tasks.

Billing Address Mismatch project
• 5-month project developed to tackle problems such as address data mismatch across various systems (Billing, Siebel, and Patty), high volumes of returned mail & customer complaints as a result. Estimated cost in the region of 200K.
• Script Wizard was used to control user experience when adding billing details & interface with billing system to align data.
• Address validation in Siebel using external address software – ‘GB Data’.

Automated Retention project
• 8-month project to automate & improve npowers customer retention process, with key benefits such as financial saving of 2.8 million within 1st year, ½ million yearly after and 3 FTE’s. Estimated project cost in the region of 400K.
• Automating the loss objection decision matrix in Siebel, used to determine if npower can object to loss.
• Included automating interfaces with the Formfill (flow management system) to send/receive Dataflows when required.
• Automatic creation of retention SR’s on receipt of loss request to drive & capture the retention process.
• Use of activity template functionality, RCR and workflow to trigger batch processes.
• Automated creation of correspondence activities, to be picked up by a daily batch process & interfaced to fulfillment house.

Debit & Easyway Load project
• 6-month project developed to improve the current manually intensive Direct Debit renewal process across Beryl & Siebel. Also to fulfill legal requirements to become BAC compliant & inform customers automatically whenever there is a change in monthly DD plans. Estimated cost in the region of 200K.
• Automating the synchronization of DD renewals from Beryl (billing system) to Siebel via daily-automated EIM batch load process. Once loaded into Siebel, the plans were processed automatically & Direct Debit details updated accordingly.
• Development included use of Workflows policies, processes & state models.

REUTERS UK, London CRM Developer/Analyst Mar 03 – Jul 04

I worked within the CRM division, responsible for building their global CRM strategy, working on various projects to enhance the application. Main aims included providing an integrated transaction process that enabled a single view of the customer from opportunity to invoice. Final project was ‘Order to Cash’ designed to improve their Sales process from order capture to fulfillment.
