CV (Curriculum Vitae) / Résumé

I specialise in retail systems from an application architecture and project management perspective, in particular store systems. This includes EPoS, EFTPoS and Chip and PIN. I have worked in IT for more than 30 years from programmer to project manager and consultant, including 22 years freelance. I am based in West London.

My experience includes:
- Hardware and Software selection (ITT)
- Integration with Supply Chain and Finance systems
- Chip and PIN, configuration and accreditation of EFT systems
- specific configuration and implementation experience of leading EPoS packages: retail-j in particular
- Project planning and co-ordination
- Application architecture and design
- Business Analysis
- Technical tyranslation from French to English

My aim is to offer a professional and holistic approach to retail systems architecture, blending business requirements and best of breed technologies.

I also have high levels of communication skills and both business and technical awareness. I also speak fluent French.

Project Management, Consultancy, Systems Architecture, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Design and Testing in the retail sector.

For the last 22 years I have worked as a freelance project manager and consultant for a wide range of retail and supplier organisations, including supermarkets, high-street chains and systems integrators. During this time I have gained extensive knowledge of retail systems. I have comprehensive understanding of leading EPoS packages, credit card processing, EMV and other industry and market sector standards. This includes retail-j, NSB Store and RetaliX.

I am experienced in all stages of the project life-cycle, from business case to implementation. As Project Manager, I have often worked on projects of a high profile, and achieved implementation within tight deadlines and to budget. Many of these have involved processing across multiple hardware and software platforms, including networking and client/server and web based architecture.

In addition, I have specialist knowledge of in-store systems, which enables me to work on assignments in a more technical capacity. Recent projects include architecture definition and supplier selection of software and hardware for a replacement EPoS system and project management of a strategic upgrade to Chip and PIN. I have specialist knowledge of the retail-j system.

My verbal and written communication skills are of a high quality. I am very used to communicating at all levels, from senior users to third party software and hardware suppliers, external banking organisations and internal development teams.

Projects have included work in France and Italy as well as the UK, including implementation of the EURO and country specific EFTPoS systems. I speak fluent French.
