CV (Curriculum Vitae) / Résumé

After graduating from university I pursued a career in web development. In 2004 I started working freelance, building up a portfolio of web work, and further increasing my software knowledge in order that I could widen my skills and become more marketable.

KEY SKILLS

• Whilst working freelance I have gained a good overall knowledge of the following software packages and languages: Javascript, ASP, Html, MS Access, Dreamweaver Ultra Dev, Fireworks, Flash, Director 7, PHP
• I have also gained an insight into SEO, in particular link building campaigns, correct use of H(Heading) Tags, Deep linking, Meta tags, Title & Alt tags, as well as the correct use of a sitemap, and xml sitemaps submitted to google. I have also used google analytics to create an ad campaign based on certain Keywords.
• Through my various jobs I have dealt and worked with a wide range of people. Also, my freelance clients have generally had little or no computing knowledge. These situations have given me experience and shown me the importance of communicating with people at an appropriate level.
• Whilst working on websites for clients I have had to teach myself the extra software and languages required to show their websites off to their full ability whilst keeping to the time restrictions of a job.
• Whilst being self employed I have worked with no supervision and have had the responsibility of solving all problems related to websites without outside help, which has been daunting at times but also challenging.
• I am just as comfortable working as part of a team as well as on my own. Whilst at university I successfully completed several projects as part of a team as well as a final year individual project.
• My final year at university was very hectic and it was at this time that I learnt to manage my time more effectively.
