Employment History
(Aug 2008 to Jan 2009)
Alias Modeller in the Land Rover Advanced Design Studio. Work covered design and surface development; this included concept modelling using the latest version of Autodesk AutoStudio. I helped develop the surfacing and design for the exterior and interior components of the vehicles.
I worked extensively with scan data and other engineering data.
I worked on next generation Range Rover as well as the development of the Land Rover LRX. I was also working on a concept and a show car.
I worked closely with the lead designer of the LRX to develop 3D models for all aspects of the vehicle. I create first sight sketch models on package then develop them into fully resolved stitched models for SLA. I also work on wheels, and all aspects of interior and exterior.
I create SLA parts for the full size clay models so am conversant in file output formats.
I also worked with the Range Rover designers to develop exteriors for milling. Again, developing first sight Alias models for presentation purposes. I developed the digital model and made it ready for milling or SLA..
I created numerous renderings in Maya of exteriors and interiors as well as individual parts, for presentation to the design directors.
