After studying level 2 city and guilds I.T. practitioner at college I gained employment with sportsdiect.com working as an I.T. workshop technician. Within this role I have gained varied experience of building and fixing computers along with installing many relevant applications. I have also had experience configuring and repairing network equipment, for example wireless access points, handheld devices, printers, switches and routers. My success within this role gave me the opportunity to work within the support team providing telephone support for all shops, office and warehouse staff finding solutions and escalating any IT problems they may have included POS applications, Databases and Web Orders. Further to this other responsibly includes the creation of new users to the companies domain this includes adding them to active directory and applying restriction to accounts.



During my time working for the support team I was able to create applications for the IT workshop to manage items that were sent to and from stores. This was noticed by management. Who gave me the opportunity to build on my strength and asked me to create applications using VB6 and MSOffice that drag information from Oracle and SQL Databases into understandable reports for retail and warehouse staff. I was successful with all project work. I have a wide understanding of Citrix systems managing this application for other users and servers on a daily basis



Other Experience includes, patching network cables onsite and offsite in store along with training colleagues to perform similar tasks.

While working for SportDirect.com, with their support, i have continued with my studies. I have gained a City and Guilds Diploma in IT practitioner Level 3 along with a Foundation Degree in Networking and i have recently completed a top up degree in applied computing.


After 3 years in my present role I feel the position I am applying for is not only a new challenge but a natural progression in my chosen career path.
