CV (Curriculum Vitae) / Résumé
I have two years experience working as a Technical Advisor for a busy, successful retail company. I have a good technical knowledge, troubleshooting and resolution skills, excellent communication skills and am constantly looking to forward myself in each aspect of my career.
Employment History
(Jul 2007 to Jul 2009)
Technical Advisor
Lenton Lane, Nottingham• Providing first level technical support to customers.
• Providing both hardware and software support for PC desktops and laptops.
• Providing support on printers and MP3 players.
• Usage of various systems to carry out engineer bookings, collections, and postage of parts.
I have now been working for this company for two years. I originally started off providing first level hardware support, but progressed to software support after successfully meeting my required targets on a continuous basis. Although I now primarily deal with software support, I also continue to support hardware related issues. I support software problems for nearly any software package our customers have.
I work on shift patterns ranging from 7:30 to 22:00, five days a week and work every other weekend.
(Jun 2003 to Apr 2004)
Trainee AutoCAD Technician
Calverton, Nottingham• Adjusting and creation of drawings
• Helping to maintain the database of drawings
• Maintaining price guide database
• Packaging and sending of drawings
• General office duties
I started working for Daleside for work experience to begin with. After work experience I sent two letters asking for further work during the summer, to which I received a reply accepting me for the summer period.
I proceeded to work for the company during every school break, and was asked to join the company on a full-time basis when I left school.
I left the company after 9 months of full-time work due to redundancy.
Education
(Sep 2003 to Apr 2008)
NCN Basford Hall College
Daleside Group signed me up to this course, which I had to leave when I got made redundant.
Because of my lack of GCSEs I had to take a few exams to make sure I could keep up with the other students and was educated enough to do so. I passed the exams first time and got into the course. I passed all of my coursework up to the point where I had to drop out due to my redundancy.
(Sep 1998 to Jul 2003)
Colonel Frank Seely School
Although I sat my GCSEs I did not obtain the grades I would have liked. This was due to the sudden death of my father just before starting senior school and then my mother falling seriously ill during the last 2 years of my time at this school. These two things affected me greatly, resulting in poor school attendance and poor concentration, leaving me at a huge disadvantage when sitting my GCSEs
