Field BasedThis field technician role involves me traveling from home to home installing PCs purchased from the stores. I also setup and configure wireless networks and complete in home repairs and upgrades.
Other duties include health checks and sometimes working in the workshop undertaking laptop repairs including motherboard replacements and screen swaps.

Senior Technician
RomseyAs my role of Senior IT Technician I was responsible for many tasks. Main duties included keeping both of our development labs operational, server uptime to a maximum and development system commissioning. This often involved liaison with the manufactures and completing hardware replacement in house and upgrades/RAID management. Server types include Fujitsu Siemens RX200 systems Dell 1750/1850/1950 and HP systems.
Other duties included configuring of our Linux systems and server backups. I also developed a Stock Database system to keep track of all of our parts and their locations and was also developing a Support call database, to log all of the out of hours support calls that I was also involved in, being part of the support team.
During my time here I became involved in site visits installing servers and specialist equipment at customer locations and the preventive maintenance of existing setups, including firewall updates and security upgrades.
PA Testing was also a regular occurrence as my role of Senior Technician.

GV Technologies UK LTD
Working in Wiltshire as an ICT Technician for schools I visit up to 10 schools each week. Completing tasks such as; installing software, trouble shooting Pcs and laptops. A s well as installing new PCs and Interactive whiteboards, I also complete administrative tasks. (Sign off, reports etc)
Time is also spent installing new networks, including cabling, switches and all of the necessary data points. Checking and if necessary completing server backups and completing general network administration (Active Directory, Group policies etc.).

Fujitsu Siemens & Dell computers (Contract)Working on behalf of Fujitsu Siemens and Dell computers under Microtek ltd I was in charge of visiting customer’s homes and undertaking repairs and upgrades to their Fujitsu machines.
This often involved replacing hardware such as motherboards and CPU’s, as well as simple items including card readers and DVD-ROM drives.
New purchasers of Dell computers would also enlist my skills to install and complete data transfers from their old systems to the new Dell machine.
