I have worked for several years each in health physics; oil exploration/production; water services; and intelligent transportation systems. My main roles have included research/development programming; requirements analysis; database design/development; Geographic Information Systems and project management. Most recently my role was centred round design and ‘Rapid’ development of innovative database systems in support of Object Oriented applications in the transportation sector.

Having retired from full-time work as an employee I now intend to take part-time work on a self-employed basis. I wish to continue to offer my service in the public and private sectors but also to offer support for charitable organisations and the third sector. I intend to develop my skills to include web-site design and development of Content Management Systems.

o Hazard Log Database for for urgent deployment on over 20 motorway schemes.
o A distributed database system for the Highways Agency’s Halogen project.

o BIAS (Bus Information and Signalling) project for Glasgow City Council.

SQL Server 2005 is the base platform. The job requires existing Excel calculation processes to be migrated to T-SQL. The initial requirement for Phase 1 is 6-8 weeks full time and then on-going part time (amount to be defined) during testing and implementation.
