Achievements
▪ Managed to success a series of projects for a major US Bank in Dublin and Poland – involving implementation of infrastructure to support a new office in Wroclaw Poland.
▪ Managed the successful completion of a pilot Business Intelligence - Oracle Discoverer 10g - project for An Cheim (Institutes of Technology computer systems and services provider). This is based on The Banner Student Administration System and will be rolled out to the 15 Institutes of Technology.
▪ Managing the recovery and delivery of programme of projects for a major Irish bank – this programme covers both Ireland and the UK.
▪ Acting as Interim Programme Director for largest client of BT

▪ Engaged to manage a series of Projects for Radio Telefis Eireann - Irelands National Broadcaster these are covering the area of the evolution to Digital and Tapeless Broadcasting
▪ Involves tender preparation, vendor selection and contract negotiation.
▪ Managing a programme of multiple projects covering both traditional IT and Broadcasting Engineering. Line management responsibility for resources from both RTE and external consultants.
▪ Full budget responsibility for the programme value currently 3m Euro.

Achievements
▪ Engaged to manage a series of Projects for the Irish Department of Defence and Defence Forces with the objective of providing modern MIS systems and full ERP solution covering 29 Locations in Ireland and A number of Overseas Missions.
▪ This was on Oracle ERP with 4M Euro value.
▪ Involves tender preparation, vendor selection and contract negotiation.
▪ Managing Resources from Department of Defence, Defence Forces and external consultants.
▪ Designing processes, service level agreements, KPIs and other performance measures.
▪ This role involved me getting highest level security clearance and signing the Official Secrets Act.

Achievements
▪ Provided Consultancy support to major Edinburgh based Financial Institution ( Standard Life) on establishment of Shared Services and Euro conversion Project planning processes.
▪ Consultancy to an outsourcing service ( Banta ) provided on expanding into Financial Shared Services.
▪ Implemented a full suite of systems for a Travel Agent and advised on staff reorganisation to meet market challenges.

Achievements
▪ Headhunted to plan and manage the start-up of this centre in Dublin covering 17 countries.
▪ Designed processes, service level agreements, KPIs and other performance measures.
▪ Recruited staff, devised training and induction courses.
▪ Planned and implemented structure and staff objective measures, compensation and staff development measures using staff and customer feedback methods.
▪ Project managed SAP implementation for 9 countries. Team of 50 technical and business. Running on Unix Application Servers with DB2 databases.
▪ The value of this project was approx 10m USD.
▪ Managed Whirlpool Europe Y2K Project – Software and Infrastructure – 25 locations Approx. 3M USD value.
▪ Seconded to Whirlpool Shanghai to take over management of their full Y2K Project following an auditors report. Using both company and third party resources I successfully completed the project to time and budget.
▪ Devised, planned and implemented a Business Continuity Plan for the centre which has become the standard for Whirlpool world wide.
▪ Lead the Project to extend the Financial Services Centre globally – worked with Government agencies in India, Australia and Eastern Europe to establish the location. Prepared and presented to the Executive Board the conclusions and project proposal. Proposal was accepted but subsequently indefinitely shelved after economic downturn in the US.
▪ Lead a restructuring plan for centre in Dublin which results in a major downsizing – I was offered promotion to IS Vice-President to be permanently based in Corporate Head Office in the US – for family reasons I opted for a severance package.

Achievements
▪ Managed projects as Systems Integration Manager in the following locations for IBM. - Phoenix Arizona managed SI project for American Express Card Services Company total budget was $60M hardware and software – project was based in Phoenix with implementations in Phoenix, UK and New York also under my direct management. This system handled all authorisation and processing transactions from all merchants and card holders worldwide – the transaction volumes were in excess of 1 Million per day from thousands of user terminals. This used rule based servers – logic and business rules filtered transactions before they hit the main systems.
- Toronto Canada managed implementation of banking ERP system consisting of both package and bespoke elements based in Toronto with branch systems across Canada.
▪ Managed and participated in consulting assignments in the following locations.
- Cyprus and South Africa led consulting project on all aspects of selection of retail banking solutions - including requirements analysis, RFP preparation and advising the banks on evaluation of responses and selection of successful vendor. Acted as a consultant to the bank project management team during the project lifecycle.
▪ Acted as Project Recovery Manager on assignment in the following:
- U.K. Was assigned to take over the running of a project in serious trouble – under time pressure I successfully re-evaluated the project in all it’s aspects, recommended and got agreement on the way forward and then managed it to a successful implementation. This was a sensitive project from a HR aspect as the staff involved felt very vulnerable and had to be re-motivated and kept focused.

Achievements
▪ Headhunted by IDA contact to start up and manage Professional Services, Development and Support Departments.
▪ Recruited staff, devised training, planned and implemented structure and staff objective measures, compensation and staff development measures for staff based in office and on customer sites.
▪ Managed all aspects of presales consulting, project management and implementation for multiple clients based in UK, Germany, Australia and France.
▪ Managed Software Vendor aspects of large Systems Integration projects managed by IBM and SEMA Group. This is a very high transaction volume system handling all aspects of credit card processing – the largest we installed handled over a million transactions per day and also managed all the reporting and billing runs for the card issuing bank.

Achievements
▪ Managed a suite of Projects which included a world-wide ERP common system based on AS400 and System38 packages.
▪ Recruited staff, created a central project control and reporting function building and implementing the reporting and issue resolution mechanisms.
▪ Managed all administrative aspects including budget of $3m and teams in up to 13 countries .
▪ Managed Software Vendor and Braun business and technical staff.
▪ This was the first successful implementation of a worldwide Common System platform for Braun and indeed for the Gillette Group
