I have a vast experience in drauighting and detailing of most forms of structures in timber, concrete and
steelwork. I have worked on drainage, highways and railways. I have a full set up in my own office but am equally happy to work in a clients office. I have worked for numerous consulting engineers over the years mostly in West Yorkshire but also in manchester, Glasgow, London and Derby.
I specialize in reinforced concrete detailing and currently use CADS_RC and AutoCAD.
I have reinforced most types of structures from heavy industrial foundations (steel mills & nuclear)
blast proof aircraft hangers, bridges, water retaining structures and high rise buildings.

Brief personal history:
I have worked as a Freelance Draughtsman / R.C. Detailer since 1973, having gained my initial experience working for J.H. Haiste & Partners (Grotmij) in Leeds.
Since then I have worked for numerous Consulting Engineers, most of whom are listed below, on a huge variety of projects in the Civil / Structural Engineering field.
I re-trained as a CAD technician in 1989, and since that time I have worked almost exclusively with AutoCAD. I am currently using AutoCAD 2008 together with CADS-RC.
I was responsible for introducing AutoCAD to Jordan Pritchard Gorman during the early 1990’s. I had previously used a computer based system of R.C. detailing called BARD but after seeing a demonstration by CADS of AutoCAD I fully embraced CAD as the future of draughting. I have worked through from AutoCAD 10 right up until the current version AutoCAD 2010. For a short while, maybe two years, I taught AutoCAD to complete beginners at Leeds College of Building on a part time basis i.e. evening classes.
I am also fully conversant with CAD_RC automated R.C. Detailing package which works within AutoCAD.
I have experience in the following disciplines:
Reinforced Concrete. Structural Steelwork. Pre-cast Concrete. Drainage. Highways. Water Retaining Structures. Car parks. Chemical Works. Hospitals. Office blocks. Industrial & Retail Developments. Sewerage & Sewage Disposal. Marine works. Power Stations. Sports & Leisure Centres. Residential (high & low rise) Water Storage and Water Treatment Plants.
I also have some Mining, Petrochemical and Railway experience. I worked for one year in Holland for a major Dutch Consulting Engineer and for Aramco.
I can produce clear accurate general arrangement drawings in all disciplines of Structural and Civil Engineering including structural masonry, steelwork, timber and reinforced concrete.
