I was head of department delivering multiple projects with forty two technical staff. My responsibilities were to ensure resource planning, staff performance and technical quality were of the highest standard. I worked as part of a team of four people to deliver projects for commercial clients. I managed the existing client base through regular communication to meet their expectations of a professional architectural service and secure relationships for future work.
• Successfully led the detailed design of a 20 million Design and Build mixed-use development including 72 Private Residential apartments, 133 bed hotel, 2 restaurants and 40000sqft leisure complex for a major national property developer in London.
• Successfully led the detailed design of an 8 million Design and Build mixed-use development including 18000sqft Commercial Office and Retail space, 57 private residential apartments and 15 Social Housing apartments for a regional developer in Chelmsford.
• Successfully led the detailed design of a 2 million Design and Build mixed-use development including 13 two and three storey private town houses with 2 private residential apartments and commercial retail space for a regional developer in Chelmsford.

• “Building Magazine” award for Architectural practice of the year 2000.
• Successfully completed a £5 million extension with fit out works for a major food retailer in Plymouth as lead consultant on a regional landmark listed building.
• Developed the concept design in to construction documentation and took the project to site for a £ 9.3 million flagship development, combining food retail and health and fitness for a major retail developer in Kingston Upon Thames.

• Formed part of a project team to work with the clients signature architect Enric Miralles for the major shopping centre development for Leeds City Centre.
• Enjoyed the accolade for being part of the team to receive the prestigious BCSC Refurbishment Award 1998 for The Leeds Shopping Plaza.
• Designed a themed high street restaurant for a national entertainment chain.
• Created concept design options for a premier business park developments for office, production and distribution premises on the M4 corridor.
• Completed the construction of a distinctive petrol filling station for an independent retailer from concept to completion. In addition constructed a food retail outlet development in a sensitive rural location successfully managing all statutory authorities in the process.

Project Architect

DTZ DEBENHAM THORPE

• Led the design team to successfully complete Investcorp House, Mayfair W1 a prestigious commission for the refurbishment and restoration of listed Georgian office buildings with a modern two-storey link.
• Delivered the Bond street development-refurbishment of listed buildings within Mayfair conservation area as retail, office and restaurant outlets with major retailers as part of the Cooperative Society portfolio of properties. Administered the contract to a successful completion and handover of the project.

BARIS UK

• Site based for 15 months working with Grimshaw Architects to deliver the 100million Waterloo International Terminal – detailed design and site supervision were the key areas of responsibility contributing to an award winning refurbishment and new build of this important gateway to Europe. Other duties included drawing office administration and project management strengthening my abilities to direct, delegate and find solutions.
