Responsible for the Oracle Databases in a program of insourcing applications which were previously managed by 3rd parties on TfL’s behalf. One of the highest profile of these applications is the Journey Planner web application which receives over 2 million hits a day.
Providing support to these applications during the transition phase as the owner of Oracle issues and ensuring that these are resolved either by myself or technical teams in house and 3rd parties..
Architecting the new datacentre at TfL using commodity servers, HP Blades, running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and introducing Grid Control, RAC, ASM, OID and Oracle11g into TfL.

Responsible for migrating data from SAP, IBIS and various SQL Server Databases into an Oracle11g Database. Utilising SQL Developer’s Migration capabilities to migrate the SQL Server Databases.
Implemented Oracle Application Express (Apex) and created applications for the Customer Operations and Call Centre Teams.
Configured and implemented best practices for Oracle Data Guard for Oracle10g and Oracle11g databases. Implemented Quest Foglight for Oracle Database Monitoring and standard audit monitoring scripts to check compliance with ING Group Standards.

Managed the migration of the Oracle9i Data Warehouse to Oracle10g. This was achieved and so the upgrade was also tested to Oracle11g.
I also migrated their Oracle Application Express software from version 2 to 3 and configured their Oracle Enterprise Manager for Grid Control to gain the most from their Oracle10g databases.

These trading systems include in-house built applications as well as market leaders such as Murex and Wall Street applications. Also Primevera, Kalido, Informatica, Business Objects, Siebel, etc. I supported the Oracle8i to Oracle10g migration of the Murex Application
I worked closely with the SOX Compliance Team as well as managing the Oracle CPU application to all Oracle Databases.

My role at ING Direct was originally to migrate all of their Oracle8i Databases to Oracle9i and protect the important CRM database using Oracle9i Data Guard and RMAN. Configured Oracle Enterprise Manager to manage the Oracle Databases and also to manage the performance and availability of SQL Server databases. Implemented the Oracle10g Grid Control server and agents against the development databases for assessment of tool.
Configuring Oracle Streams Replication to feed the data from the OLTP CRM database to the Data Warehouse.
Providing 24x7 support and supporting releases on site at all times of the day.
Performed multiple failover testing of Data Guard to BCP site and configured protection modes.
