EDI Group a property development and investment business owned by the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) but operated as a private LTD Company. EDI respected for its integrity and high quality schemes and has won many awards for regeneration, masterplaning and housing design.

AppointedDirector of the following EDI Companies- North Ayrshire Venures Ltd, Gyle Developments Ltd and New Laurieston Ltd

Projects include:

• A Pre let 100 bed Travelodge Hotel at Edinburgh Airport.
• A BREEAM excellent Speculative office near Edinburgh airport.
• Page and Park designed BREEAM excellent office development in West Edinburgh
• A pre let environmentally friendly Health Centre in Ardrossan in a JV with North Ayrshire Council
• A major £100m mixed use regeneration scheme in Glasgow in a JV with Miller Homes.
• PARC Craigmillar a £750m regeneration scheme responsible for town centre and strategy and managing team on project.

At the cutting edge on sustainability and environmental issues initiated unique paperless marketing campaign, which is first of its type in Scotland.

Larrik Property Ltd, London

The Brighton project was Larrik’s first large scale venture and opened the door for other similar projects. Larrik was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Oracle Group which has a substantial SE based residential portfolio.

Brighton Jubilee Street

Acquisition of Brighton Jubilee St from Norwich Union/Morley/Mill Group. Scheme voted Best design in British Urban Regeneration Awards 2005 60 residential units 11 restaurants and retail units and 15,000 sqft of offices . The site is part of a larger £200m development with a PFI library (shortlisted for Stirling Prize 2005) and 94 bed boutique hotel. Sold residential element to George Wimpey PLC and signed development agreement for them to build out 9 retail and restaurant units on a turn key basis. Negotiated funding of remainder of development with AHLI Bank to build speculatively. Development Completed summer 05 with top quality tenant line up including Tesco, Carluccio, giraffe, Starbucks,Yo Sushi and Strada. Office occupiers include Stiles Harold Williams.

Set up London office of Edinburgh based property Company. Projects included 400,000sqft Business Park at Sheffield Airport and the redevelopment of 165 Fleet Street London in JV with property entrepreneur Nic Byrom.

Welbeck Land. Established 16yrs ago the Company has expanded the Howard De Walden family’s interests in commercial and residential property outside their 100 acre £1.0 billion+ London estate based in Marylebone W1. The Howard De Walden family are one of the wealthiest landowners in the UK.

Oxford Street, Sedley Place, London
Appointed development manager by the Corporation of London for the planning, marketing and construction phases of this award winning Fletcher Priest designed mixed use scheme within Mayfair conservation area, which now includes a flagship 50,000sqft Boots store, restaurant, café, offices and residential. End capital value £80m.

Leeds: Crown Street Buildings

Acquisition of a former NCP car park site in Leeds City centre opposite the Grade 1 listed Corn Exchange. This mixed use development by Alford Hall Monaghan Morris won a RIBA Housing Design Award 2006 the scheme includes 30,000 sq. ft of restaurant and retail space and circa 60 residential units. End capital value £20m.

Plymouth: Royal Parade
The acquisition from REIT of retail parade and office investment in city centre, medium term potential for extension and improvement of retail units configuration. Planning consent was obtained and the property sold to a local investor/developer.

Nottingham: Trent Park
Acquisition of 25 acres next to River Trent, site assembly and proposal for circa 500 residential units, 100,000 sq. ft office, retail and leisure. Joint venture with housebuilder William Davies Ltd. End value £150m.

Swansea: Carmarthen Road
Site acquisition and planning achieved for 150,000 sq. ft bulky goods retail unit. Site now Pre let to Wickes and sale of surplus land for discount food use. End value £20m.

Implementation of Business Plan, including achievement of departmental budgets and targets.

Kwik Save Plc (1,000 stores in the UK, now part of Somerfield Plc). Retained as sole agent to advise on property portfolio in Scotland, including acquisition strategy, the take over of Shoprite PLC, asset management and disposal programme. Also retained by B&Q to acquire and dispose of stores.
