Children First was set up to consult, design and operate extensive family and children’s only facilities and programmes through Government policies within:

Children First is part of various consortiums regarding the above areas with a specialism in Extended Schools, Workforce reform, Children’s Centres, Wraparound Childcare, Sports Participation, International Language School Outdoor Activity Centres and Physical Education/Swimming curricular projects.

Reporting to the Chairman, I have extensive experience in the school and leisure PFI process, Children First is the market leader in bid solutions for the area of Extended Schools. Management is still involved with several BSF schemes and several developing Academies throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities: strategic consultancy with public and private sector partners, facility management selection and contracts, extended school delivery packages, integrated community funding solutions, procurement and tender policy, site bids, capital projects feasibility and external funding reviews.

Sports development partnerships with a number of Sports Colleges, Local Authorities, strategic liaison with Sport England, PMP Consultancy, Skills Active and Capita regarding health and fitness offering, sports programmes and sustainable commercial models.

I exited in 2006 through a trade sale and merged with Pro Stream Marketing, a specialist Sports Marketing Agency in the Professional Sports Club, Leisure and Education sectors.

April 1999 to July 2001 Next Generation Clubs Consultant, Regional Manager and Group Family Services Director

Founded and implemented Group family strategy which was linked to a:

· Sales and Marketing role at the £13 million Next Generation Club, Edinburgh
· General Manager role of pre opening £9 million Next Generation Club, Chorley, York and Dudley

Key Responsibilities: Project and General management of new build £9 million Rackets and leisure facility in Chorley, Lancashire (including arbitration case with Wilmott Dixon), recruitment of 100 facility staff, oversaw sales and marketing campaign, business development regarding innovative membership partnerships, health and safety responsibility, group youth and sports development policy regarding family membership offering, development of outdoor education programmes in various youth sports, sports competition delivery programme, co-ordination of group school programmes, co-ordination of group brand partnerships and procurement regarding 5,000 sq ft day nurseries.

July 1995 to July 1999 Sportscare Founder/Managing Director

I set Sportscare up as a start up and merged its trade with childcare group Kids Unlimited with resulting sales of £500,000. The company ran a mixture of residential Summer camps, outsourced Local Authority Sports Development units, Holiday camps and Afterschool clubs, Special needs programmes and educational curricular projects linked to the first Sports College programme at Lostock High School, Manchester.

Business development of group strategy and leisure facility operation with several local authorities, Whitbread, Midlands Bank, Mark Warner, Boots and The Body Shop.

Kids Unlimited sold the operation in 1999 with my successful exit.
