Construction Manager for all aspects of construction associated with a £50 million project to improve the fuel efficiency of a large carbon fuelled power station in the UK. The installation was divided into two areas that involved the construction of complex steel structures and in one area the construction was carried out in an extremely confined location necessitating complex lifts and carefully planned operations. Primary function of the role was to manage all aspects of the construction, particularly the management of on site sub-contractors of all disciplines, civil, structural steelwork, mechanical and electrical equipment installation. Due to the high profile nature of the project particular emphasis was placed on controlling and maintaining a high level of safety throughout the site. Responsible for ensuring that all project deliverables were realised by using the entire on site management team resources as appropriate.

Site management of the complete pipework installation, on a new build power station in the South East of England, including steam mains, feedwater systems, degassing systems and all other systems associated with a steam generation installation. Responsible for all aspects of the on site operation including H & S E, lifting operations, using tower and mobile craneage, Project Control and Planning, QA, client liaison and all resources. Acting as the site manager, on a self employed contractor basis, for a renowned UK engineering company.

A new role, developed within the company organisation, to enable the Installations Manager to devolve the operational responsibility, for the installations department, and concentrate on sales development. The planning of on site activities, particularly any lifting operations, became an essential part of the assigned role. The position required that I take full responsibility for the allocation of all resources, necessary to complete several projects concurrently. I have been responsible for the management of a recent refurbishment contract, with a major utility company, with a value of £3 million involving three project engineers and several support staff.

Commenced as an Inspection/Installations Engineer and progressed through the company to become the Installations Manager responsible for budgetary control and planning of all pojects undertaken by the company.
