I have led a range of successful projects to build capacity and increase the supply of results driven, multi-agency responses across local authorities and their commercial or third sector partners. Motivated by social investment as well as grant funded opportunities, his understanding of the wider legal context and social care best practice is combined with excellent networking and analytical written skills that are second to none.

Fundraising: Writing bids and overseeing tendering processes from application stages into start-up. Past successes include winning local authority contracts to deliver the pan-London strategy for care leaver accommodation and support (2009), accessing the European Social Fund (2007) to deliver key skills to young people that are not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET) and compiling Project Initiation Documents in order to secure central government Invest to Save funding (2004) as part of developing the National Register for Unaccompanied Children (NRUC). As well as establishing an Investment Fund to provide sustainable support to victims of crime, tenders being developed currently (awards pending) on behalf of not-for-profit clients include funds from European (Daphne III and Crime Prevention) and the UK Ministry of Justice (Victim Care Co-ordination).

Change Management: Conducting readiness assessments and developing communication and staff development plans to facilitate sustainable growth and an effective management response. Successful activities include undertaking efficiency audits (LEAN) and developing a business communications plan to support a local authority new Children’s Services team structure (2010), managing frontline redundancies resulting from feedback analysis gathered (2009) and developing robust processes in respect of implementing revised training programs, policies and procedures (2006-2009).

Performance Monitoring: Measuring success and overseeing compliance in relation to quality assurance. Successful activities undertaken include the development of an outcome based Leaving Care transition model on behalf of a local authority client (2010), implementing an internal Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) to include announced and unannounced inspections and robust paper based audit trails linked to outcomes (2006-2009) and undertaking systematic contract monitoring to ensure effective case management and best value for money through Service Level Agreements (SLA) between a local authority consortium and approved providers (2000-2006).

Project Support: Planning, organising and managing resources to an agreed scope, time and budget. Successful activities undertaken include identifying and managing stage boundaries consistent with a Prince2 approach as part of delivering the pan-London strategy for care leaver accommodation and support (2009), implementing a multi-agency European Social Fund citizenship and skills programme reporting system (2007) and facilitating data collection and analysis through planning and the design and integration of data flows exemplified by the creation of a property maintenance database to meet Housing Health and Safety requirements (2007).

Communications: Marketing, public affairs and events management to raise organisational profiles and facilitate stakeholder relations. Successful activities undertaken include developing website and multi-media platforms to enable effective partner engagements (2011), representing clients on local authority NEET reduction, integrated working and hate crime forums (2010) and chairing or co-ordinating conferences and seminars between Directors of Social Services, the Home Office, Health and other public authorities (2000-2006).
