CV (Curriculum Vitae) / Résumé
My core skills and experience fall into two complementary streams:
(1) maximising the effectiveness of work relationships and communication - whether in management, leadership, customer service, marketing or any other people area of work. I emphasise emotional intelligence (EI) which I develop through coaching and teaching
(2) optimising processes, ensuring that IT applications meet the business’s needs. This uses business systems analysis and design, and requirements definition and is essentially a consultancy role.
>>> I specialise in businesses which have the capacity for growth but are not achieving it, despite possessing the necessary resources and skills.

Overview
My core skills and experience fall into two complementary streams:
• maximising the effectiveness of work relationships and communication - whether in management, leadership, customer service, marketing or any other people area of work
Some other areas: change . conflicts and disputes . converting prospects . decision making . delegation . empowerment . growth . innovation . investment in people . motivation . partnership . productivity . self improvement . stress . success . succession . team building . vision . work/life balance etc.
I emphasise emotional intelligence (EI) which I develop through coaching and teaching
>>> I specialise in businesses which have the capacity for growth but are not achieving it, despite possessing the necessary resources and skills.
• optimising processes, ensuring that IT applications meet the business’s needs
This uses business systems analysis and design, and requirements definition and is essentially a consultancy role.
I am equally at home on assignments in either stream, but I am particularly effective when I can deploy my EI skills in business consultancy assignments, and when I am deploying my business skills when working with EI.
The key thing is that businesses are people and being able to work with people to achieve change is as import as being able to define what that change is.
I have worked both for SMEs and for global corporates – I am equally happy in either. I increasingly work in the health sector, bringing the benefits of commercial reality to it. As an employee, I was in retail for ten years (M&S). As a consultant/manager (inc Admiral, CMG and Logica), I was active in a wide range of sectors including media, transport, IT, tobacco, retail, government, utilities. As a coach/trainer, in my own business, I’ve worked in health, IT, retail, finance, marketing, charities, amongst other sectors.
I have a modest parallel career in classical music, as a composer, arranger, editor and journalist.
