My experience comes from taking part in entertainment related events (music, theatre, comedy, talks, exhibitions) over the course of four years whilst taking part in the Canterbury Festival. during this time time I have managed to improve my organizational, communication, technical and team working skills, as evidenced through receiving the award for the most significant contribution done by a events student during my degree. I enjoy working in teams and always help my colleagues if they require me. Being calm, organized, handling pressure or working in a team are qualities gained from previous sporting (skydiving, tae kwon-do) and academic (business projects) experiences.

Production work in set-up, run and get-out for various festival shows including the 2008 Footsbarn Theatre’s ”A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, ”Something old/ Something new” fashion show, and the 2009 St. Petersburg Orchestra production in the Canterbury Cathedral.
Front of house and stewarding at a range of events from talks to theatre and classical music concerts.
Advance publicity and distribution in the city and at university fairs.

Awarded to the Events Management graduate who has made the most significant contribution to the Canterbury Festival during their degree.
Modules studied include: Events Management and Staging, Project Management, Financial Management, Tourism and Leisure Marketing, Sport and Leisure Policy and Planning, Service Management for Tourism and Leisure.

Worked within a team, during the second year, to design and stage our own event, “Cook it. Live it” cooking demonstration, on a small budget (£20) and managed to attract an audience of 60, as part of the Fair Trade fortnight in March 2010, on the university campus. During my third year I managed to improve my qualitative and quantitative research skills by undertaking a research project on expectations and perceptions of the 2010 Canterbury Festival using a sample of 200 people.
