2007 – Present FREELANCE ANIMATOR & DESIGN CONSULTANT

50% time spent as aFreelance modeller/animator and GFX artist. Same basic function as below, but as a sole trader.

50% time spent as a Product Design Consultant. Main involvement was with Swiss company ‘Peraves’ Helping to design and pitch a new vehicle type to major motorcycle manufacturers.


1996 – 2006 PICTURES ON THE WALL - PARTNER

Responsible for the operation of a small (6 person) animation business. Creation of high quality 3D computer animated graphics and video effects for broadcast, advertising and film. Clients included the BBC, STV, C4, WGBH, Tesco, Saisburys, RBS, Lloyds TSB.

Many commissions were for explanatory documentaries such as the BBC’s Horizon. My technical and analytical skills complemented my artistic ones to provide a balance between information content and visual interest.

• Using my expertise to create high quality 3D animations and motion graphics.
• Managing time, people and resources between various projects.
• Monitoring the final delivery of work and instigating improvements where needed.
• Maintaining client relationships with the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and various independent producers.

• Taught classes in - IT, 3D Computer Graphics, Engineering and Product Design.


1994 – 1995 DANIEL MONTGOMERY AND SON LTD - PRODUCT DESIGNER

• Detailed product design on innovative new bottle closures and anti-counterfeiting devices.


1988 – 1991 RAWLPLUG LTD - PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER

• Oversaw the design and manufacturing implementation of Rawlplug’s range of retail products.
• Eight patent applications were applied for to protect features of my design work.


1985 – 1988 THE ROVER GROUP - DESIGN ENGINEER

• Worked as a Design Engineer on interior trim and hardware.
